Acre’s Old City is surrounded by centuries’ old seawalls where the waves of the Mediterranean Sea splash up against them. There are ancient mosques, synagogues and churches, underground passages, Turkish baths, Hall of the Knights Templar, archaeological discoveries and museums. The modern experience includes a typical “shuk” or outdoor market-home of a famous hummous restaurant, great beaches, good restaurants-especially for fresh fish, a marina and a truly picturesque fishing port. Nearby is an exquisite Bahai Garden with pleasant paths and exceptionally beautiful flower beds.

Acre is also home to a number of lively festivals each year that attract thousands of visitors both local and international.
