Packing Tips

Each person including children should have their own suitcase on wheels. This eases the check-in process at the airport, at the hotels and even in the car.

Consider taking some plastic bags as they come in handy for children’s toys. cassettes, writing implements, toilet paper and tissues, snacks etc.

Make lists and check them twice. Involve the children in the process of making the list and packing the items.

Less is better! (except for infants). Especially when flying you will less laundry, less “schlepping”, and less stuffing luggage into a rental car. The key to successful packing is to choose wisely. Choose colors that will mix and match well to make several outfits from as few pieces of clothing as possible. Pack only what you really need.

Sometimes more is better! Pack a couple of sets of items such as glasses, bathing and shower caps, sunscreen and bandages in several different places so they will always be handy. Remember to take plenty of batteries for electronic gadgets and cameras, tape, and scissors.

Leave space for the things you will buy. Remind the children of this too!
