Shuki Weiss, the official producer of the event has confirmed that a single performance will take place in Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park on September 1, 2009. Weiss has said that this will be the most expensive musical event ever produced in Israel. Netvision has taken on sponsorship of the event.
Madonna has previously visited Israel mainly to enhance her knowledge of Kabbalah but this time she is coming to perform in concert. Her last concert in Israel took place in 1993. This time her arrival will be preceded by 2 cargo planes bringing all the equipment, lighting, the entire stage and even kitchens. A temporary “city” will be built behind the scenes at the park for the hundreds of staff and crew who will accompany her.
Madonna has been touring the world since last August and was to have completed the “Sticky and Sweet” tour that came in the wake of her album “Hard Candy” on August 28th of this year. But when the offer came in to perform in Israel, a land so close to her heart, she couldn’t resist.
Tickets range in price from NIS 490 for standing room on the grass to VIP tickets of NIS1500-NIS 2500. Tickets are available on the internet site of Netvision.
