Israeli Companies Make the Forbes Global 2000 List

The number of Israeli companies on the Forbes Magazine list of the top 2000 public companies in the world grew from only 10 last year to 13 this year. The companies represent a broad range of business endeavors including pharmaceuticals, (Teva), telecommunications, (Bezek), natural energy resources, (Delek), computer software, (Check Point), and banking, investment and financial firms, (Bank Leumi, Bank HaPoalim, Mizrahi Tefahot Bank, FIBI Holdings, Africa-Israel Investments, Israel Discount Bank, and Gazit Globe).

Israel has a well-established international reputation for attracting venture capital and for attracting companies such as Microsoft to establish research and development facilities in the country. Every year Israeli scientific, medical,   software and agricultural innovations and breakthroughs garner world-wide attention and Israeli universities rank with the best in the world. Israel contributes to the total body of human knowledge far beyond its small size.
