Enjoy an authentic Yemenite Jewish experience at the home of internationally known Yemenite singer Gila Beshari. Gila Beshari is a prominent member of Israel’s Yemenite community and an expert on Yemenite music and the customs and traditions of Jewish life in Yemen.
Her warm hospitality includes an authentic homemade traditional Yemenite meal including appetizers, main courses, desserts and house specialties.
After the meal guests enjoy a 45-minute musical program of traditional men’s and women’s songs, religious and secular melodies that were an integral part of Jewish communal life in Yemen.
During the musical performance Gila also tell stories about the life and culture of the only Jewish community in the world that lived isolated in one country continuously for 2,500 years.
Additionally Gila offers the option of a traditional Yemenite pre-wedding “Henna” ceremony complete with a costume, jewelry and the exquisite Yemenite headdress for the bride who is accompanied by a group of women in customary embroidered outfits and hats.
This unique and exotic experience lasts from 90 minutes to 2 hours.
